The English Distillery

Only twenty minutes drive from Wymondham The English Distillery is the producer of the World’s Best Single Malt 2024 and is England’s oldest registered whisky distillery. Our family-owned and run distillery offers a range of behind the scenes tours, including tasting and create your own whisky experiences. All seven of our tours are suitable for beginners and whisky aficionados alike. Make a day of your visit and enjoy breakfast, lunch or coffee & cake at our on-site restaurant, The Grain Kitchen, before touring the distillery and finishing with a visit to our well-stocked whisky and gift shop.

Norfolk Tank Museum

The Norfolk Tank Museum twenty minutes drive from Wymondham houses a collection of military vehicles, weapons and militaria mainly from the 20th Century and the Cold War Period twenty minutes drive from Wymondham in Forncett, South Norfolk.

Wymondham Abbey

Wymondham Abbey is one of the grandest religious buildings in East Anglia. It is a magnificent Norman church, originally established in 1107 as part of a monastic foundation. It was later enlarged and embellished with a particularly fine angel roof. The famous gilded altar screen by Sir Ninian Comper is among its many splendours. The unusual twin towers are a prominent local landmark.

Wymondham Tennis Club

Wymondham Tennis Club is based at Ketts Park where there are 4 hard courts refurbished in 2022 with LED floodlights which are managed in partnership with South Norfolk Council available 365 days of the year. There are members club sessions during the week, a resident coach provides junior & adult coaching programmes & a new clubhouse for the use of members was installed in spring 2024. Pay & Play is available through South Norfolk Leisure.
