Air Cadets is a diverse and inclusive uniformed youth organisation for young people aged 12-20. We offer education in aviation, confidence building, physical education and sports competition, skill-building potential and a variety of training opportunities, aiming to prepare young people with skills and experiences that will help them with any career they choose to go into.

How old do I need to be to join?

  • Air Cadets is open to anyone Year 8 or above, with a minimum of age 12, and aged under 16.

What sort of activities do you do?

  • We do all sorts of activities. On squadron nights this can range from sports, leadership, qualification training, navigation, first aid, archery, shooting and a whole lot more. Alongside other squadrons in Norfolk and Suffolk Wing, cadets are offered a variety of camps they can attend, such as Adventure Training Camps that offer activities such as Mountain biking, climbing, white water rafting or zip lining. 

What does Air Cadets offer in terms of qualifications?

  • Through Air Cadets you can complete the Bronze, Silver and Gold Duke of Edinburgh (DofeE) award. You have the opportunity to complete BTEC qualification and we also complete first aid courses accredited by St John Ambulance. These courses not only offer qualifications but also teach life saving skills. 

How do I join?

  • We typically have two intakes of cadets throughout the year, around February and September. If you're interested in joining or would like more information, please contact us through our website or our Facebook page.
