Organ recital ‘The Genius of JSBach’

Saturday 12 April at 11am in Wymondham Abbey
Organ recital to be given by Mike Webb, former Abbey Assistant Organist who’ll be playing music by J S Bach. His programme ‘The genius of J S Bach’  will be a selection of music appropriate for the season of Lent and include some Bach’s most beautiful chorales.

Mike Webb was Assistant Organist at Wymondham Abbey for many years whilst teaching at Langley School, Loddon. He now lives in South Devon and teaches at Torquay Boys’ Grammar School. He began learning the organ at Saint Mary’s, Hitchin with David Atkinson, before studying with Rob Green in Ripon as part of a French, Music and Psychology degree. Later he taught in Kenya where he was active in the local musical life. His special interest is French organ music and the art of improvisation.
