Introduction to Wymondham Walks
As a long-term resident of Wymondham I look forward to sharing our Town with you. All are welcome on these Walks but especially new residents and visitors who are enjoying and learning about their surroundings for the first time.
I offer two Walks, both starting in the Market Place and ending outside Wymondham Abbey:
Walk 1: The Town Centre
This takes in the best-known buildings of the Town centre following the oldest streets with commentary and anecdotes.
Walk 2: A Semi Rural Walk all on firm paths
The Walk goes across Tolls Meadow to Cemetery Lane and back via Lady's Lane. As well as explaining how the Town has changed along this route, there is opportunity to point out the start of further rural walks you may wish to explore later.
Each walk lasts around 90 minutes at a fairly slow pace.
The Walks take place on the first Wednesday of the summer months without booking. Meet in the Market Place at 10.30 for Walk 1 and 2.30 for Walk 2.
Cost is £5 per person or £8 for both Walks on the same day. There is plenty of time in between for lunch and browsing the shops. Cash only please.
Alternatively one or both Walks may be booked on a date or time of your choice by emailing walks@carolus.org.uk Also please use this email address if you have any queries.
I look forward to hearing from you
